Born into an artistic family and trained in painting from a young age, designer Mihara Yasuhiro, who later majored in textiles at Japan’s renowned Tama Art University, believes that true art should not be confined to museums or kept at a distance from people.In 1995, before even graduating, he began using footwear as his medium of creation, allowing design to naturally integrate into everyday life and exist closer to people. With his unique aesthetic vision and unconventional shoemaking approach, he went on to officially establish his namesake brand Mihara Yasuhiro in 1997.What sets his work apart is an unwavering spirit of innovation. His designs consistently strike a perfect balance between trend and artistry—meticulously crafted, playful in character, and refreshingly unrestrained.
