German fashion designer Jil Sander founded her eponymous brand in 1968. Beyond her influence on the minimalist fashion movement, she is renowned for her refined and understated designs. 
Originally working as a fashion editor, she developed exceptional tailoring skills through her editorial work.In 1968, she launched her own fashion label and presented her first collection in 1973.
Her designs draw inspiration from Bauhaus principles—clean lines, streamlined forms, and precise structure. During the opulent fashion trends of the 1980s,her work stood out for its purity and restraint. 
By the 1990s, she was regarded alongside Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein as one of the masters of minimalism, profoundly shaping contemporary fashion aesthetics.
