Helmut Lang founded his eponymous brand in 1986, becoming the first to bring streetwear onto the runway. As a representative of 90s minimalism, Helmut Lang infused his designs with a blend of street sensibility and experimental minimalism. He became famous for his iconic denim, deconstructed cuts, and high-performance fabrics, skillfully integrating innovative materials into his designs. In 2005, Helmut Lang himself decided to leave his namesake brand. This year, Vietnamese-American designer Peter Do was announced as the new creative director of Helmut Lang. With the motto "encouraging people to express their individuality," Peter Do carries on Helmut Lang’s bold and radical design style. The models, walking back and forth in suits, shirts, dresses, leather, and denim ensembles, showcase Peter Do’s refined and avant-garde approach, focusing on deconstructive creativity through subtraction.
